Botagoz Sultanova

Botagoz Sultanova, the founder and executive manager has been engaged in the banking and financial sector for more than 20 years. During this time she has implemented more than 30 consulting projects for international financial organizations (EBRD, IFC, ADB, GIZ), international funds, banks and microfinance organizations (MFIs) in Europe and Asia (10 countries) in the field of lending, internal audit and control, risk management, strategic and business planning.

Her career in the lending sphere started in 1998 in TuranAlem Bank in Almaty as a loan officer.  She then acted as credit and audit consultant for the EBRD Small Business Programme, followed by Head of the Credit Department of ATF Bank; Head of the Corporate Business Risk Division of Halyk  Bank of Kazakhstan; Managing Director-Partner in the Kazakhstani audit firm. In 2011 she founded a consulting firm. Botagoz is the general manager and manages international projects for financial organizations. Since 2017, he has been working as an independent director of Optima Bank OJSC (Kyrgyzstan).

In 2003 she became a qualified auditor of the Republic of Kazakhstan, obtaining the international accounting certificate CAP and in 2008 she obtained the international professional accountancy qualification CIPA.  She graduated from Omsk University of Service, Technological Faculty (Russia). She speaks Russian and English.

Botagoz holds diplomas and certificates in finance including auditing, sales in the financial sphere, the course on Basel Committee regulation; marketing, management and personal effectiveness from the following: Joint Vienna Institute, the Financial Technology Transfer Agency (Luxemburg),   NLP Institute, Erikson University Business-Training Agency Renaissance etc. She has completed 5 modules of the training program for managers at the business laboratory of M. Tsyganenko. She maintains her professional competence in accordance with Continuing Professional Education (CPE) requirements for CIPAs (at least 40 hours annually). She is a member of the Chamber of Auditors of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a member of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Her interests are mountain trekking, yoga and traveling.
